Rodney A. Melgard, O.D.

Dr. Rodhney

Dr. Melgard received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in Los Angeles, CA. Clinic rotations included primary care, pediatric, contact lenses, low vision and geriatric care. Clinic services were located at the Optometric Center of Los Angeles, Indian Health Services, Long Beach Naval Shipyard, Las Vegas Rehabilitation Services, March Airforce Base and East L.A. School Screenings. Prior to Optometry School, Dr. Melgard earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from St. Cloud State University. His family includes his wife Sheila, who is a teacher in special education and two children Ana and Ali. His hobbies are water sports at the cabin, skiing, and coaching the girls soccer teams.


Warren Stoltman, O.D.

Dr. Stoltman is a native of Brainerd Minnesota. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Gustavus Adolphus College and his Doctorate of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University. While at Ohio State he was president of Beta Sigma Kappa, an optomeric honor society, and earned The William Feinbloom Low Vision Award for his class. He enjoys fitting contact lenses, pediatric care as well as treating and managing ocular diseases. Dr. Stoltman’s wife, Amanda, is also an optometrist and they have 2 boys, Grant and Evan.


Joseph J. Allen, O.D.

20160517_154241Dr. Allen was born and raised in St. Cloud, MN. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Natural Science from Saint John’s University, and then studied at the Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, TX, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2015. While studying for his doctorate, he worked as a graduate research assistant, helping develop assessments for advanced glaucoma with new technologies, and tutoring fellow students. He also enjoyed serving the community through local outreach with Student Volunteers in Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH). As part of his clinical training, he completed an internship with the VA medical center in Austin, TX, and another with a large medical clinic in San Antonio, TX.

Upon graduating, Dr. Allen returned home to serve his fellow Minnesotans and completed his Residency in primary care, low vision, and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation through the Minneapolis VA. He enjoys all aspects of primary eye care and serving patients of all ages.

These days, he lives in Minnetonka with his wonderful wife Stephanie, a mental health practitioner from St. Cloud, MN. When they are not off sightseeing around the world, you’ll find them going to dancing classes or cheering on the Wild.


Jeffrey P. Sanderson, M.D.

After finishing his Medical Doctorate, Dr. Sanderson completed a comprehensive medical and surgical internship at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. He received his formal residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota, and sub-specialized in cataract and corneal surgery and disease management at the prestigious Pepose Vision Institute in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Sanderson has had extensive training on all of the newest intraocular lenses used to both treat vision loss from cataracts and restore functional reading vision without the need for glasses. He offers a full repertoire of corneal and lens-based surgical solutions for vision correction including the latest in personalized wavefront guided laser treatment.

Through his comprehensive practice, Dr. Sanderson provides comprehensive Ophthalmology care for patients with glaucoma, diabetes, lid disorders, dry eyes, and a variety of ocular diseases.

Dr. Sanderson strives to offer his patients the most technologically advanced treatment for ocular disease and surgical management. He has been involved in FDA clinical trials in Ophthalmology and has performed research in the areas of glaucoma, cataract surgery, LASIK, and diseases of the eye.

He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the Minnesota Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Sanderson has also been published in medical journals and has presented at national meetings.
